A 16-year-old girl was fatally shot Saturday morning at a Glenview apartment complex in greater Chicago according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.

Sheriff’s officers responded to a call about a possible gunshot victim in the 3600 block of South Salem Walk in unincorporated suburban Glenview, Illinois, around 11 a.m. and found the teen with a gunshot wound, according to the sheriff’s office.

She was taken to the Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where she was pronounced dead, officials said.

No arrests

Lilly B. Bova was identified as the victim according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, the Chicago Sun Times reported. 

Authorities are looking for a person of interest.

Authorities to date released few details surrounding the circumstances leading up to the teen girl being shot.
