Victoria ‘Tori’ Overcash, Salisbury, North Carolina teen driver dies after crossing center line and colliding head on into another vehicle. Cause of crash unknown. Tragedy took place on Brown Road near China Grove. Officials continue to investigate as Rowan County school grieves. 

A teen motorist in North Carolina has died after her vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a garbage truck, Thursday.

Victoria ‘Tori’ Overcash, 17, of Salisbury, N.C, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck which occurred on Brown Road near China Grove Thursday morning, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Investigators stated Overcast was traveling south when her vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a garbage truck traveling north.

What led to teen driver crossing center line? 

Overcash was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported in the collision the Salisbury Post reported.

Commented one social media user on a Rowan County post advisory, ‘I drove by as the tow truck was pulling off, that car I mean the entire front of the garbage truck was destroyed and that car didn’t even look real. Prayers for the families for sure.’

Victoria Overcash J.C Carson High School senior remembered

The deceased was a senior at J.C. Carson High School. Rowan-Salisbury Schools who had been planning to attend college in a few months. School officials in the wake of the tragedy provided additional counselors at Carson High School on Thursday for students and staff grieving the loss. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

‘Our hearts break for her family and the entire Carson High community,’ North Hills Christian School wrote in a statement. ‘When one school in Rowan County grieves, we all feel it.’

The Carson Cougarettes Dance Team announced a special prayer for Tori to be held during its final season performance on Friday, with attendees encouraged to wear ‘pink and teal’ in her honor.
