Tiffany Lesueur, Maumee, Ohio mother arrested injecting feces into child’s IV line after being observed by nurses attempting to contaminate and harm her own child during children hospital visit in Columbus.
Munchausen by proxy….? A 35 year old woman has been accused of injecting feces into her child’s intravenous line at an Ohio children’s hospital.
Tiffany Lesueur, 35 of Maumee, was arrested on Monday, Feb. 9, and booked into the James A. Karnes Corrections Center, where she was charged with endangering a child — torture/cruelly abuse, WTVG reported.
The alleged incident is reported to have occurred while the mom and her child were hospitalized at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH last week.
Mother was observed seeking to contaminate her own child during children’s hospital visit
According to arresting documents, Lesueur was ‘observed by staff attempting to inject a foreign substance into her child’s IV port’ on Feb. 6, with the parent’s subsequent visits to the child’s room monitored.
On Sunday, Feb. 8, employees told officers they saw footage of Lesueur allegedly entering a bathroom with a cup, later putting ‘what appeared to be fecal matter’ into a syringe and then injecting the contents into the child’s intravenous tube, connected to the child’s hand.
A regard of Lesueur’s social media profiles shows the woman being a mother to four children and previously losing a premature baby in 2022.

Following her arrest, Lesueur was ordered to stay away from her child, and not have unsupervised contact with minors, with bond set at at $250,000, the Columbus Dispatch reported.
Lesueur is next scheduled to appear in court on February 19th for a preliminary hearing.
Not immediately clear is why the mother sought to contaminate her own child’s IV line.
The incident led some to speculate on social media if the mother was orchestrating an instance of Munchausen by proxy. The diagnosis is is a mental illness and a form of child abuse. The caretaker of a child, most often a mother, either makes up fake symptoms or causes real symptoms to make it look like the child is sick. The action is usually enacted in a bid to gain attention, sympathy, or gratification.
