A 28-year old man has died after a shooting at a fast food restaurant in Kansas City, Missouri, Saturday evening along with a second man injured as authorities seek to arrest a suspect gunman/gunmen.
Decorrian Partee, 28, was one of two men shot just on 8 p.m at Popeye’s located at 31st Street and Prospect Avenue according to the Kansas City Police Department.
Responding officers arriving at the scene found two men with gunshot wounds at the scene. One of the victims was alert, KCPD said. He was taken to a hospital with non life threatening injuries, while the other victim, identified as Partee, was pronounced dead at the scene, FOX4 reported.

Witnesses described an ‘interaction between multiple people’ that escalated in an exchange of gunfire that struck two men. Authorities had yet to say who they believe fired the gunshots and what led up to the gun violence. Preliminary reports indicated the two fallen men being shot at by a third party, KCTV5 reported.
KCPD says that they are searching for a suspect or suspects who may have left the scene in an un-known direction after the shooting.
Detectives are seeking witnesses inside or near the restaurant at the time of the incident.

The fatality is the ninth homicide in KCMO in 2026.
