How did she die….? The daughter of Hollywood icon, Tommy Lee Jones, 79, was found dead at an upscale San Francisco hotel early on New Year’s Day in circumstances that has since led to questions as to the cause of her death.
Victoria Jones, 34, at the time of her discovery, circa 2.52 a.m, was seen lying on the ground of the 14th floor of the Fairmont hotel after a guest who thought she might be drunk alerted hotel staff. Despite attempts to revive the woman, it was soon established that the woman lying on the ground was already deceased.
Former child star found dead in mystery circumstances
Medical response crews said that there were no signs of foul play, such as trauma to the body, and police did not find any drug paraphernalia on the scene. There were also no signs that Victoria may have taken her own life, pagesix reported.
It remained unclear if the 34-year-old had been experiencing health issues.
The case was turned over to the San Francisco Police Department and Medical Examiner for further investigation. A cause of death is currently unknown.
Not immediately clear is whether Victoria, was a guest at the hotel or how she came to be on the 14th floor and who she may have been with leading up to her death.
Actor father recalls firing own daughter for movie role
Victoria – a former child star born in 1991, was the daughter of Jones and his second wife Kimberlea Cloughley, whom he was married to from 1981 to 1996 – performed in her first acting role as a child. By 2002, she made her movie debut with a small part in her father’s picture Men in Black II.
In 2003, she appeared in an episode of the hit teen show “One Tree Hill” and, in 2005, acted in “The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada,” which was directed by her father. It would be the last acting roles Victoria had.
Tommy told the New Yorker in 2006 that Victoria is ‘a good actress, has her sag card, speaks impeccable Spanish… When she was a baby, I told Leticia, her nurse, to speak to her in Spanish.’
It He also related a charming anecdote about having to acclimatize his then 14-year-old daughter to the rigors of working on a Hollywood movie set.
‘She had to get up at 5am for her part. One morning, she wouldn’t get out of bed. I said: ‘Honey, this is work.’ But she wouldn’t budge,’ he told the New Yorker.
‘So I fired her. Then, without telling me, the production staff went over and woke her and rushed her out to the set just in time,’ he recalled.
Victoria is now survived by Jones, Cloughley and her brother, Austin, 43. The family has to date not publicly commented on the 34-year-old’s sudden death.
Authorities continue to investigate.
