A glamorous Texas gym goer has been arrested after she allegedly threw a 25 pound weight at her love rival at a Houston area gym.
Aralyn Martinez, 24, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the alleged assault against Cindy S Aguilar following an altercation at 24 Hour Fitness outside Houston earlier this month.
Harris County Deputies responded to the scene on January 6 following a 911 call in which they were told the 24-year-old had recognized, ‘the complainant as someone her partner was involved with’.
Verbal hostility escalated towards 25 pound weight thrown at love rival bixch
An altercation arose between the two, leading to Martinez allegedly trying to cause injury by throwing a weighted plate toward her love rival’s head.
Martinez attacked the victim saying, ‘b**** I’m going to drop this 25lb weight plate on you’, according to a criminal complaint filed by the District Attorney’s Office.
Witnesses to the Texas gym attack told police the confrontation unfolded quickly, escalating from verbal hostility to sudden violence as gym-goers looked on in shock. Investigators say Martinez grabbed the weight plate and hurled it in Aguilar’s direction, striking her and knocking her to the ground.
Emergency responders were called to the Texas gym, and Aguilar was taken for medical treatment. Police said she suffered significant pain but her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. Aguilar later told officers she feared she could have been seriously injured or killed by the heavy plate.
Constable Mark Herman with the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 said that the gym goer was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. Bond was set at $1,000, which posted the next day.
Bond conditions and love triangle drama
‘Facts giving rise to probable cause suggest that alcohol was a factor in this offense,’ Judge Matthew Peneguy noted while setting bond conditions, according to Law & Crime.
‘Defendant must not use, possess, or consume alcohol. This includes any food, mouthwash, or over-the-counter medication containing alcohol.’
As part of her bond conditions, Martinez is banned from using marijuana and possessing weapons. She is prohibited from contacting the victim and can not be within 200 feet of the 24 Hour Fitness location where the incident occurred.
Aguilar responding to the ‘trauma’ told the Daily Mail that Martinez is ‘unstable’ adding, ‘that is not her boyfriend, never was’ in reference to the man at the center of the altercation.
An X account seemingly run by Martinez contained several different posts about relationships.
Love triangle thoughts
This included a repost that said, ‘fall in love before you get too smart,’ and another that added: ‘I hate a lustful man. Did you even know how funny I am b****.’
In a Facebook post the day after her arrest, Martinez reposted: ‘I’m really a “there’s beauty in everything” kind of girl, even in the lessons, the waiting, and the becoming.’
The man at the center of the alleged love triangle sparking the Texas gym attack was questioned by investigators and acknowledged having contact with both women but denied provoking the confrontation. The un-identified man was not charged.
