A Mississippi woman in Hattiesburg is alleged to have shot and killed her three-year-old son, the boy’s father along with herself in a suspected murder-suicide.
Brianna Bruno, 32, is alleged to have shot and killed her partner, Thomas O’Neil, 37, along with their 3-year-old child before turning the murder weapon on herself.
Notice of the tragedy came after a requested welfare check at the family’s home on the 500 block of Seventh Avenue, Tuesday afternoon, January 27th, led to the discovery of three deceased individuals the Hattiesburg Police Department stated in release.

Autopsies conducted Jan. 29, 2026, determined O’Neil and the juvenile victim died from gunshot wounds and their deaths were ruled homicides. Bruno died from a gunshot wound, and her death was ruled a suicide.
The incident was described as isolated with no further threat to the public.
