A shooting at Kentucky State University at Frankfort, KY, has left one person dead, two injured and the alleged gunman arrested.
Shooting erupted just on 3.30 p.m, Tuesday on campus with the Frankfort Police Department responding tor reports of an ‘active aggressor.’
The unidentified suspect was taken into custody around 3.40pm, police said.

Stated the Frankfort Police Dept in a Facebook release in part at 4.35 p.m: ‘Officials confirm one person is deceased, one has been transported to the hospital in stable but critical condition. A suspect remains in custody.’
A university official confirmed to WKYT that the shooting happened in the area of south campus at Young Hall dorm. The southernmost part of campus has a small cluster of buildings affiliated with the university’s aquaculture and nutrition courses, along with the primary sports facilities.
The north campus is packed with residence halls, student centers, the school’s police station and its sole library.

‘At this time, we are aware of some injuries. We will share more information as available. Law enforcement are on scene, and a suspect has been arrested. Let’s pray for all those affected.’
Kentucky State University remains on lockdown while the investigation continues.
A university official told WKYT in the initial moments of gunfire, that multiple people were injured. Their conditions have not been confirmed nor the exact amount of individuals injured.
Authorities had yet to say what led to the shooting.
Nearly 2,200 students attend the southern school and roughly 450 faculty and staff members work there. Final exams started on Monday, according to the university’s website.
