Florida authorities are investigating the death of a mother of two who was found dead inside the freezer of a Dollar Tree store over the weekend.
Helen Massiell Garay Sanchez, a 32-year-old mother of two and practicing doctor was found ‘naked’ inside the Miami area store freezer, Sunday morning after cops saying the woman entering the restricted employee only area and spending the night in the freezer.
According to Miami Police, officers arrived at the Dollar Tree at 968 Southwest 8th Street, Miami just after at 8 a.m., after an employee calling 911 to say they had found the dead woman inside the freezer.
How did Nicaragua mom of two come to end up at Dollar store freezer?
Miami Police said Sanchez walked into the store Saturday night before it closed, after having not bought anything, before making her way to the freezer in the back storage room, where she spent the night.
Sanchez was found by an employee in the morning presumably after having frozen to death.
A GoFundMe page identified Sanchez as a physician hailing from Nicaragua who died as a result of a ‘tragic accident’ while abroad.
Fundraiser for Nicaragua mom stated mom of two ‘dedicated her life to medicine’
According to the fundraiser, created to bring the mother of two’s body back to her home country, Sanchez ‘dedicated her life to medicine,’ who was recognized as an anesthesiologist specializing in congenital heart disease and ‘brought hope and healing to countless children and families,’ according to Stefany Pereira, who organized the online fundraiser.
While Sanchez death remains under investigation, NBC6 reported that cops didn’t suspect foul play and do not believe she was forced into the freezer. Investigators are speaking with her family to determine whether she had any mental health issues.
