A shooting in Castle Rock Township near Farmington in Minnesota has left left a mother of two young children dead along with a male individual with gunshot wounds following an attempted murder-suicide.
The shooting happened at a residence near 250th Street West and Minnesota Highway 3 in Castle Rock Township just after 2:30 p.m, Wednesday, Christmas Eve. Upon deputies arriving at the scene following reports of gunfire, they found a woman dead along with a male with a gunshot wound, who is now currently being treated according to a Facebook release from the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office.
The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office described the incident as a possible murder-suicide attempt, but did not confirm who fired the shots or the relationship between the victims. The post also stated no danger to the public existed.

While officials declined to release the identities of the victims or suspects, or what led up to the shooting, social media identified the victim as 26-year old woman, Tayah Giles a mother of two young children who worked as a server at The Buckboard Restaurant in Lakeville.

A GoFundme fundraiser stated Tayah Giles being shot and killed on her 26th birthday.
The fundraiser sought $9,000 to help with funeral expenses and care for her children. Donations poured in, raising close to $7,000 by December 25. Officials have urged anyone with information to contact the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office.
