Maurice Nolan Evans, Bojangles manager shoots & kills worker’s father, Dominique Goodman, trying to help teen daughter after receiving call about a dispute at her place of work.
A father who had come to assist his daughter at her place of work was shot and killed by the teen’s restaurant manager at a Bojangles restaurant parking lot in Palmetto, Georgia.
Dominique Goodman had arrived outside the metro Atlanta establishment, located at 9135 Roosevelt Highway, Sunday afternoon, just on 1.15 p.m, after receiving a call from his daughter saying that she had gotten into a dispute with her manager at the restaurant where she worked as a waitress.
Upon arriving outside the Bojangles restaurant, the parent confronted Maurice Nolan Evans, 25, of Forest Park, a Bojangles employee and shift manager, who in turn allegedly gunned down the teen worker’s father after the two men arguing.
Disagreement with team manager led to teen worker calling her father
Leading up to the shooting, Goodman’s daughter had a ‘disagreement with her team manager earlier in the day and had called her father for help, while the shift manager waited in the parking lot after his shift ended.
Upon the teen girl’s father arriving, the two men proceeded to argue before the Bojangles worker pulling out a gun and fatally shooting the father.
During police questioning, Evans admitted to law enforcement at the scene that he killed Goodman, 11Alive reported.
Nolan Evans upon his arrest was charged with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
A manager at Honda South in Morrow told Atlanta News First that Goodman was a top salesman at the dealership for about three years.
Bojangles restaurant releases statement
In the aftermath of the shooting, Bojangles restaurant released the following statement:
‘We are aware of the tragic incident that occurred earlier today at a franchised restaurant location in Palmetto, Georgia. Our hearts go out to the victim and all those impacted by this senseless act.
‘The safety of our guests and team members is always our top priority. The franchisee is fully cooperating with local law enforcement as they conduct their investigation.
‘We strongly condemn all acts of violence. Out of respect for everyone involved and the integrity of the ongoing investigation, we will defer further details to the police.’
Maurice Nolan Evans remains held at the Fulton County Jail.
