Valerie Schoeck, Cambridge, Massachusetts woman living in NYC killed by wrong way driver in West Village. Was engaged to be married.
A 27-year-old woman who moved to NYC from Massachusetts to pursue a career as an executive and who was slated to get married next year was killed on Friday after she was struck by a wrong way driver in Greenwich Village.
Valerie Schoeck – originally from Cambridge but living in the West Village – was crossing Morton Street at the Seventh Avenue South intersection just after 8:30 a.m. when a wrong way driver in a black van rammed into her, authorities and sources said.
At the time the driver had just exited a parking garage only to make a wrong way turn at the intersection onto Morton and 7th ave striking the 27-year-old.

Schoeck was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, only to die from mortal injuries sustained according to the nypost.
Schoeck had been planning on getting married next summer to Ross Barlow, according to the fiancee’s aunt.
‘The woman killed is my nephew’s fiancé,’ the aunt, Carol commented on a 1010 WINS TikTok post about the deadly crash. ‘We are all shocked and desperately saddened and in disbelief. Her name is Valerie. She was to be married in June. There are no words to describe the grief. She was an extraordinary gorgeous young lady. Thank you for your prayers.’
A regard of Valerie Schoeck’s Linkedin profile revealed her rising through the ranks at Argot Partners, LLC where she held the position of vice president. She had started at the NYC outlet as a junior associate in July 2020. Previously Schoeck had studied at the College of Charleston where she attained a Bachelor of Arts, Communications.
At the time of the crash, the 61-year-old driver was spotted driving a 2020 GMC Savana van with New Jersey plates westbound on Morton Street, which is eastbound-only, cops said.
The un-identified driver remained at the scene and had not been charged by Friday, authorities said.
