Scot Thompson, Florida man shoots and kills his 2 brothers at a hunting cabin after the three men getting into a physical altercation.
New York State authorities have arrested a 65 year old Florida man in the shooting death of his two elder siblings during a hunting trip in Saratosa over the weekend.
Scot Thompson, 65, of Englewood, Florida, according to a release by New York State Police shot and killed his brothers, 69-year-old David Thompson and 70-year-old Mark Thompson, with a rifle before then fleeing in David Thompson’s car.
Prior to the double homicide, police say one of the siblings called police, leading to responding officers finding their bodies at a hunting cabin.

An alert was issued for the vehicle, and the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and Geneseo Police Department found it and took Scot Thompson into custody. Following his arrest, the 65-year-old sibling was charged with counts of second degree murder and two counts of criminal use of a firearm.
Leading up to the shooting, investigators say the three brothers were staying at a hunting cabin in the town of Allen, Fillmore, west N.Y, ( an hour and a half south east of Buffalo) when they got into a physical altercation, WWSB reported.
While authorities do not know what led to the three men getting into a physical altercation, they said alcohol was a factor.
Scot Thompson and David Thompson were both from Florida, Scot from Englewood and David from Port Charlotte. Mark Thompson was from Canterbury, Connecticut.
Gunman calls wife of slain brother to apologize for shooting her husband dead
John Sweeney, David Thompson’s brother-in-law, told WBBH that Scot Thompson called David’s wife, Jane, and apologized.
‘I just can’t believe it because I’ve hunted with all three of those guys,’ Sweeney said. ‘I’ve met him before. I was surprised, so he called Jane last night and apologized.’
Sweeney said David and Jane Thompson had recently retired to Florida.
Autopsies are scheduled and Thompson is in the Allegany County Jail awaiting arraignment. The investigation is continuing.
