Lorent Junior Pion charged with the murder of his on and off again girlfriend, Nahomi Cittadini after traffic cameras caught him punching her to death along Miami’s I-95 three months ago.
The boyfriend of a 22-year-old Florida woman found naked and dead along Interstate 95 in Miami-Dade County in December has been charged with her murder. The man’s arrest follows the pair having a history of ongoing domestic violence.
Lorent Junior Pion, 29, was initially charged with failing to stop and aggravated fleeing after telling police that Nahomi Valentina Cittadini, 22, jumped out of his moving vehicle and was hit by a passing car, WFOR reported.
According to an arrest warrant charging him with second degree murder months after the incident, however, traffic camera footage shows a man repeatedly punching a woman and dragging her toward the highway.
History of domestic violence
‘The victim crawled back to the emergency shoulder,’ a Florida Department of Transportation worker who viewed the footage said. ‘The subject punched the victim and dragged her back to the far-right lane in the path of oncoming traffic.’
Added the affidavit, ‘the victim was on the ground fending off the attacker who was standing over (her) throwing punches.’
The arrest warrant also says that blood was found both inside and outside Pion’s vehicle.
Investigators said Pion was often violent with Cittadini, and a protective order was issued against him after a physical altercation in Miami Beach in August.
On and off again relationship
Pion was described as being Cittadini’s on-again, off-again boyfriend by a friend of the woman, CBS News previously reported.
According to the Florida Department of Corrections, Lorent Pion’s criminal history includes carjacking, a felon in possession of a weapon and fleeing and eluding. The man had been arrested in August on charges of battery and had a stay-away order issued against him. Pion has been on probation since August of 2022.
As of Tuesday, Pion remained in the Broward County Main Jail.
