Alysha Burney Kansas City social media influencer dies from asthma attack during her sleep while vacationing in Mexico as her brother, Charles is forced to dispel speculation as to the cause of her death, including claims she did drugs. 

A Kansas City social media influencer with more than 5 million followers across TikTokInstagram, and YouTube, died after suffering an asthma attack in her sleep on March 2 while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She was 24 years old and was set to turn 25 the very next day.

Alysha Burney best known for her comedy skits, was popular across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, where she mostly posted video content, including punchy, comedic skits. She also had her own production company, ABurneyProductions, which had already produced a film and had more projects in the works.

Dispelling false narratives of social media influencer’s death

Commenting on his sister’s death along with discrediting speculation on the cause of her death, the influencer’s brother, Charles Burney posted on Instagram, ‘It is extremely difficult seeing all of the false narratives trying to defame her legacy and we are ready to take legal action for those continuing to spread false information regarding her passing.

‘We know so many people care about her and will share more information soon but just give us some time and please stop harassing the family ❤️ Her legacy will still live on FOREVER!!’

Speaking to Fox 4 KC, the sibling stated, She does not do drugs.’

Adding, ‘She was a self-loving and happy individual who cherished her life and was looking forward to the upcoming year’s plans. She was in Mexico to celebrate her birthday. She was a very classy young woman.’

‘There’s a spread of misinformation online, stating different things based on speculation. These sources lack credibility and should not be believed. My sister did not engage in environments that would lead to such situations,’ Charles Burney added.

Alysha’s dream according to her brother was to be a writer and director, and one day open up a production studio in her hometown to help other aspiring artists in the Kansas City area, he said.

‘Alysha was very goal-oriented, creative, and passionate about giving back,’ the sibling added. 

Alysha had been living in Los Angeles and was a graduate of the University of Central Missouri.

Not immediately clear is what treatment, if any, Alysha Burney was receiving for her asthma.
