

Killeen ISD female student, 14, stabbed to death during altercation at Roy J. Middle School. Teen girl arrested. No known motive.
A 14-year-old Texas girl has died after she was reportedly stabbed to death by a classmate during a school fight in Killeen, Monday morning.
Pandemonium at Roy J. Middle School broke out following an ‘altercation’ between the victim and another girl around 11:25 a.m, KWTX reported.
The sudden violence led to the un-named middle school teen being knifed.
Despite being rushed to hospital the 14 year old girl mortally succumbed to her injuries the Killeen Police Department said in a release.
School authorities state the fight between the two girls was broken up within minutes. The incident led to the middle school into lockdown, ABC13 reported.
While declining to give names, the Killeen Police Department confirmed the attacker also being an underage female teen, ‘who was quickly apprehended.’
Police are now investigating the incident as a homicide.
‘Killeen ISD is deeply saddened to share the tragic news that happened at Roy J. Middle School,’ the independent school district’s executive director Karen Rudolph said in a statement.
Stated Principal Fred Lily in the aftermath: ‘Smith Families, we want to inform you of a situation that occurred on our campus this morning. A student was injured and is being transported to receive medical care,’
‘We understand that this may be concerning, and we want to assure you that the safety and well-being of our students and staff are our highest priority. We will update you as soon as possible.’
Lily said there is no ongoing threat to students or staff. Law enforcement are ‘actively investigating,’ he said.
Counseling and support services are being made available for students and staff.
No motive for the fatal stabbing was immediately known. It remained unclear what charges the teen girl would now face and whether prosecutors would seek to charge the teen as an adult.
