Taylor Meyer, Charlestown, Indiana man kills his wife on Valentine’s Day after suspecting the woman cheating on him with her co-worker after Deborah Meyer not responding ‘favorably’ to a Paris themed event he’d organized at their Jeffersonville home as their 3 children slept upstairs.
An Indiana husband allegedly stabbed his wife to death on Valentine’s Day after she ‘just didn’t give a s–t’ about a Paris-themed evening the man had arranged, according to court docs.
Taylor Meyer, 34, of Charlestown is accused of beating his wife, Deborah Meyer, with a wine bottle before stabbing her 40 times while the couple’s three young children slept upstairs in their Jeffersonville home on Feb. 14 before boasting about the murder to the victim’s possible lover.
‘I tried so hard….‘She just didn’t give a s–t.’
Meyer’s grand plans for the ‘perfect’ Valentine’s Day stemmed from growing suspicion in January that his 36-year-old wife was having an affair with a co-worker.
He claimed the co-worker’s name was saved in her phone as ‘My Best Friend Emily.’
In a bid to re-claim the affections of his wife, Meyer bought her a dress, ordered dinner and had their kids draw pictures of the Eiffel Tower as part of a ‘Bringing Paris to you’ evening, WAVE reported.
Meyer gave his wife a card with a handwritten message inside and the two even danced to their wedding song, he reportedly told police.
But to her husband’s eyes, Deborah did not appear impressed or appreciative.
‘It was the hardest I’ve ever tried,’ the husband allegedly told detectives during questioning, Law and Crime reported. ‘She just didn’t give a s–t.’
His wife left the home for 20 minutes, which Meyer said he believes was to meet up with her ‘boyfriend.’
Court documents noted Meyer bearing ‘some strong animosity towards her for leaving.’

‘What are you going to do, kill me?
When she got back, the night turned violent when Meyer allegedly attempted to pry the victim’s phone out of her hands, which led to a fight, according to an arrest affidavit.
‘What are you going to do, kill me? You’re going to hurt me and leave our kids with no parents?’ the man’s wife had allegedly said according to Meyer.
The husband eventually wrestled away the phone and sat on her back as he went through it before calling the alleged ‘boyfriend’ to tell him the commotion was his fault.
The two continued to struggle before Meyer allegedly told police he hit his wife over the head with a wine bottle multiple times, leading her to lose consciousness.
Unsure if she was dead, Meyer told cops he then found a ‘big a– kitchen knife, a long one,’ and plunged the knife into her dozens of times, including her chest, making sure the woman was was dead.
He allegedly took a photo of Deborah’s body with the victim’s phone, sending the image to the possible boyfriend, texting him, ‘Your Fault,’ according to police. He also allegedly told friends and family he killed his wife.
When police arrived, JPD said Meyer was immediately non-compliant and aggressive, forcing officers to use control techniques to bring Meyer into custody.
The couple’s three children, all under the age of 5, were found inside the home at the time of the man’s arrest.
Meyer has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge. He remains held in jail leading up to his July trial date.
