Georgia police are investigating the ‘mysterious’ shooting deaths of a Carroll County husband and wife who were discovered shot dead in their bed by their 3 children.
James and Kristin Brock, 45 and 41, were found dead Thursday morning at their home, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office stated in a Facebook release.
Noted the release in part, ‘Investigators processed the scene throughout the day yesterday and will continue their work today. They are actively following up on leads and have conducted numerous interviews. As part of the investigation, deputies will be canvassing the neighborhood again today.’
‘The weapon was not located on scene, which led us to believe it was a double homicide and not a murder suicide as many were speculating online,’ Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Communications Director Ashley Hulsey told WAGA.
Notice of the couple’s deaths came after the couple’s three children waking up and going to to their parent’s bedroom, where they found their parents slain.
Friends of the couple said the couple had been married for ten years and recently joined Catalyst Church in Carrollton and described them as friendly and fun-loving.
‘Kristen was bubbly and fun and she loved hugs. She never met a stranger. And James, he was a comical kind of guy. He would always crack jokes and always say something to make you laugh,’ said Tasha Meza.

The couple were described as being actively involved in church activities, with James awaiting a heart transplant.
Police said there didn’t appear to be a forced entry into the family home, although a door was ajar when deputies arrived on scene.
Police said there was nothing in the house missing, and there were no signs of a break-in, 11Alive reported.
‘If there was something they wanted in the house, they could have taken it, and they probably wouldn’t have woken up, but for some reason, they wanted them dead, and I want to know why,’ Dennis, Kristen’s dad told the outlet.
Police continue to search for leads in the case leading up to the arrest of the individual(s) responsible for the shooting deaths of the Carrollton couple.
