Harrison Jones, Rockford, Michigan man sets fire to Bensalem, Pennsylvania home of ‘love-rival’ his ex-girlfriend communicated with online and had been planning on visiting.
A Michigan man is alleged to have driven over 700 miles to his perceived ‘love rival’s’ home in Pennsylvania where he burned the man’s house on fire along with attempting to kill the ‘love foe.’
Harrison Jones of Rockford, Michigan was arrested in Kent County over the weekend for setting the fire Feb. 10 in Bensalem Township, Pa., a suburb of Philadelphia last week.
Upon his arrest, Jones was booked on six counts of attempted criminal homicide, arson, risking catastrophe and other related offenses, Bensalem Police said in a Facebook release.
Jealousy have no fury but 11 hours each way
The 21 year old is awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania where he will be formerly arraigned, FOX17 reported.
At 5:22 a.m. Feb. 10, the Bensalem Township Police Department and the Bensalem Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire in the 5200 block of Merganser Way. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered six adult residents who had evacuated from the home, some of whom had to jump from second-story windows to escape the flames.
Fire engulfed the two-story single-family home, which eventually was destroyed.
Two dogs died in the fire and the six adults were transported to nearby hospitals to be treated for injuries.
Investigators say the fire had been intentionally set and incendiary in nature. Nearby home surveillance captured a black sedan as it passed the home and stopping at a nearby intersection just on 5:01 a.m. Video then captured a person exiting the vehicle with an object, walking toward the home and 15 minutes later running back to his waiting vehicle and fleeing the area and driving 11 hours back to his Rockford, MI home.

Victim had started online relationship with suspect’s ex girlfriend
Surveillance captured smoke billowing from the rear yard of the home. Within 30 seconds there was a large explosion and the house engulfed in flames.
Detectives used township intersection cameras to identify and track the vehicles entering and exiting the township. The assailant’s vehicle was identified as a Volkswagen Passat.
Investigators say that a 21 year old resident of the burned home having an online relationship with a woman who lived in Michigan, who was supposed to travel to Bensalem Township to meet him. The woman’s ex-boyfriend was identified as Harrison Jones of Rockford, who lives at the same address as the owner of the Volkswagen Passat.
Officers with a search warrant arrived at Jones’ home where they found a parked Volkswagen Passat along with the suspect with what appeared to be burns on his arm.
The incident remains under investigation by the Bensalem Township Police Department.
