A North Sewickley Township, Pennsylvania teen boy is alleged to have shot dead his parents, his younger teen brother then self in a suspected murder-suicide in Beaver County, over the weekend.
First responders were called to a home on Shaffer Street, Sunday night, circa 8.30pm, following reports of shots being fired. It was later determined that the 9-1-1 call came from inside the home.
Upon officials entering the family home they found four family members, including the parents who were pronounced dead at the scene and the teen brothers who despite being rushed to hospital were soon after pronounced deceased, WTAE reported.
911 call made from inside Beaver County home
The victims were identified as Clifford Hunt Sr, 51, and Michelle Hunt, 48, according to Beaver County DA, Nate Bible. Also found at the scene was the alleged perpetrator, 19 year-old Clifford Hunt Jr. and his 16 year old brother, Cody Hunt.
The DA says an abandoned 911 call from inside the residence brought authorities to the home. It remained unclear who had made the call.
Police say it appears Clifford Jr. was the shooter.
‘At this stage, it does look like the older son, Clifford Jr., may have been the last one alive. There were several weapons were taken from the scene. [We are] still sorting out what weapons were used and on who, trying to piece together a timeline of what might have happened,’ Bible said.
No known motive
In a social media post following the shooting, North Sewickley police said it was ‘a contained incident’ and that there was no threat to the public, CBS News reported.
The Riverside High School put out a statement identifying one of the victims as junior Cody Hunt. The school said Cody Hunt was a member of the National Honor Society and played the saxophone in the marching band.
A fundraiser for the burial costs for all 4 victims as of Monday night had raised, $19,920 of a $40K target as of Monday night.
No known motive was immediately known.
