Hallandale Beach murder suicide: Pajtim Krasniqi, Albanian husband shot dead by his model wife, Sabrina Krasniqi (Sabrina Dzaferovic) who then shot herself dead at luxury high rise Florida condo. No known motive.
A 27 year old ‘glamorous’ model allegedly gunned down her husband before turning the weapon on herself in an apparent murder-suicide inside their luxury Hallandale Beach, Florida high-rise on Wednesday as the husband’s family have now released a statement expressing that their brother and son was a fighter who had undergone insurmountable odds and had resisted having a leg amputated following a motorcycle accident in 2018.
Sabrina Krasniqi, 27, also going by her maiden name, Sabrina Dzaferovic, allegedly fired five shots at her husband, Pajtim Krasniqi, 34, then shot herself on the oceanfront balcony of their lavish condo at Beach Club II Hallandale in Hallandale Beach, just north of Miami, around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
Hallandale Beach police responded to the macabre scene shortly after the shots rang out and found the couple’s lifeless bodies sprawled outside their 45th-floor unit.
They were both pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The gun-violence led to blood dripping over the edge onto lower balconies.
Pajtim was part of a large Albanian family that immigrated to the US from Peje in Kosovo, and his wife’s family was also originally from the Balkan country according to Albanian national outlet, Gazeta Tema.
The couple lived in Astroia, Queens, in New York City.
The bloodbath led to the husband’s family taking to social media to express their anguish.
‘Pajtimi’s wife chose to take my brother’s life away from him when she shot 5 bullets into his chest,’ Albana Krasniqi Munrett said in a Facebook post about her brother.
‘My Thanksgiving Eve wasn’t spent with my husband and children. It wasn’t spent with friends. It was spent with police officers, detectives and news reports talking about the vicious and senseless murder of my youngest brother by his wife.
‘The person he trusted the most, the person he chose to spend his life with was the one who took his away from him. She betrayed him, his love and his trust. She shattered my family. My siblings and I will never be the same. I’m terrified my mother will not ever recover.’
She ended the post by writing, ‘I love you always Pajtim RIP.’
Aerial footage of the police investigation revealed what appeared to be bullet holes in a glass door, with pools of blood nearby, as the two dead bodies were later covered by a yellow tarp, NBC 6 reported.
Inside the unit was a teddy bear, a box of roses with a heart on it and the TV still on, according to the footage.
Police responded after receiving an alert from ShotSpotter, a gunfire detection program, with a police scanner indicating the gun-toting wife was on her back and her husband was lying face down in a bloody mess on the balcony, according to reports.
The gunfire detection captured at least five shots erupting in quick succession, followed by a brief pause and then a sixth gunshot, according to NBC 6.
‘We heard screaming, and it was scary,’ Max Braedlin, who lives across the street, told the local outlet.
‘I hear the shooting and then after a few minutes the police cars, and it was a crowded scene.’
Sabrina Dzaferovic, had previously been featured as a model in a 2021 Inside Edition segment, according to Local 10 News, where she wore a mask around Times Square in New York City to see how many men would catcall her.
‘It’s kind of disturbing because I don’t feel safe and I don’t feel comfortable… It just makes you have the heebie-jeebies,’ she said.
‘That would be the last guy I would ever go on a date with.’
Come Friday night, Krasniqi’s family released a statement:
‘My brother Pajtim was a devoted brother, son, uncle and friend.
‘He had a love of life that few could ever hope to replicate.
‘He was a fighter. He was one of the mentally toughest people I have ever had the privilege of knowing. After sustaining a devastating motorcycle accident in 2018, he was determined to not allow the doctors to amputate his leg, despite all the evidence this was the best path forward. Knowing full well saving his leg would lead to multiple surgeries, pain, and long recovery times, he met the challenge head on. He further disregarded doctors orders and refused to take his pain medication during each of his surgery recoveries as he refused to become addicted to the medications.
‘Facing unfathomable odds and despite those multiple surgeries and long healing times, he never complained. He never acted out. He took it all in stride. His strength and determination was infectious to those of us who knew him and will forever be a source of strength and pride for our family.
‘He loved his nieces and nephews without parallel. It brings great joy to remember him smiling, laughing and playing with the children. He was always the first to want to take them for ice cream, treat them to a movie or simply play around the house.’
Police have since called the shooting an ‘isolated incident,’ with cops yet to say what led to the murder-suicide. An investigation into the tragedy continues.
