Damon Smith, Palm Coast, Florida Peeping Tom arrested perving into 14 year old teen girl’s window as father chases man with prior criminal record with baseball bat.
A Florida ‘Peeping Tom,’ has been arrested after a Palm Coast father caught the ‘un-wanted’ guest peering into his 14 year old daughter’s window last week.
In a news release, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FSCO) said that the Palm Coast father and his wife were sitting in their backyard on Thursday, Sept. 12 when the wife spotted Damon Arthur Smith, 29, creeping through the trees next to their property.
After the couple yelled at the man, he fled, deputies said. Out of concern for his family on Friday, September 13, the man sat on his back porch in case the person returned. That night the father told the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FSCO) he Smith once again walk through his backyard and towards his 14-year-old daughter’s bedroom window.
‘Call the cops! Call the cops! Somebody call the cops,’
When the parent walked around the corner of his home, he saw the ‘Peeping Prowler’ peering through his daughter’s window. The father then swung a bat at Smith and chased him away from his home.
‘Call the cops! Call the cops! Somebody call the cops,’ the father says on a home surveillance video obtained by WOFL. ‘Where you going, boy? Come here! Come here! I got something for you!’
After a short chase, the father lost sight of Smith and immediately called authorities.
When deputies with the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office arrived, they were able to locate and identify Smith as the suspect and when questioned, the alleged pervert admitted to being on the victim’s property. Smith also admitted to deputies, ‘getting a thrill from walking around people’s homes.’
Smith was also revealed to live just around the corner from his victim, WESH reported, and may have been probing the teen girl in the days before.
Smith was arrested for Loitering or Prowling, Voyeurism – First Offense, and Aggravated Stalking of a Person Under 16. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility and is being held on an $86,000 bond.
‘This pervert said he gets excitement from peeping into other people’s windows but this time he came across a father protecting his daughter,’ said Sheriff Rick Staly. ‘Thankfully deputies tracked this pervert down and got him checked into the Green Roof Inn.’
Of note, Smith has a prior criminal history, with the man arrested in May 2013, for making a bomb threat at Flagler Palm Coast High School. Smith was 18 at the time of that arrest. Indeed.
