Chevy Kyler Monaghan shoots dead his grandparents, Anthony Maxa and Shari Mallory-Maxa at their South Austin, Texas home. No known motive.
A 21-year-old Texas man has been accused of shooting his grandparents dead at their South Austin home over the weekend.
Austin Police said they received multiple calls just after noon on Saturday to check on the welfare of Anthony Maxa, 76, and Shari Mallory-Maxa, 74, KXAN reported. The callers also said that the couple’s grandson, Chevy Kyler Monaghan, was at the home and refusing to allow anyone inside to see the couple.
Officers arrived and found Monaghan in the driveway. The grandson told responding officers that his grandparents were inside and were unharmed.
No known motive
Upon entering the premises, officers found the couple deceased, with ‘multiple trauma wounds’ as a result of gunshot wounds.
Police determined that the couple’s grandson, Chevy Kyler Monaghan was the killer. The 21 year old was arrested and charged with capital murder of multiple persons and is being held without bond at the Travis County Jail.
Officials to date have not announced a motive for the shooting deaths.
