Janelle Loveless, Quakertown, Pennsylvania mom aka Bethlehem Christian singer Janelle Schulz forgets 2 month old baby in hot car while going shopping as bystander averts catastrophe.
A bystander averted almost certain catastrophe after coming across a two month old baby in a vehicle amid searing temperatures after the boy’s Christian singer mom, ‘forgot’ the newborn as she went shopping in Quakertown, Pennsylvania.
Janelle Loveless, 33, had left the boy in 110F heat on July 5 as she went shopping. Fortunately for the mother, a Good Samaritan saw the child alone in the scorching car and rushed to the baby’s aid, pulling him from the unlocked car and calling 911. The un-named individual carried the baby into an air-conditioned building and waited for police.
One of the officers rushed the baby to a hospital. The baby miraculously survived. Loveless was soon located shopping in one of the stores. She told police she had ‘just plain forgot’ her son was in the car.
2 month old was left unattended for more than half an hour
The mom now faces felony charges for reckless endangerment of an infant, and is being investigated by Pennsylvania child services department, WPVI-TV reported.
Loveless is also charged with leaving an unattended child in a motor vehicle and driving without a license.
Quakertown Police Chief Scott McElree said the baby was in the car for more than 30-minutes in the 90-degree weather, and commended the quick thinking actions from the Good Samaritans who saved the child.
Police said the car windows were slightly open when they arrived but temperatures inside soared to a stifling 110 degrees and described it as an ‘oven.’
McElree explained how parents can underestimate just how high temperatures can rise in their car during the hot summer months.
He added: ‘If it wasn’t for that citizen who called 911 and extracted the infant from the car, that could have been deadly.’
‘I am a slave and a follower’
The mother-of-three and stay-at-home mom is also a Christian singer and songwriter.
Loveless, who also goes by the name Janelle Schulz, writes about her children and family on her social media, including her battle with Lupus.
Earlier this month, she posted a GoFundMe asking for donations for her roof that needs to repair, referring to it as the ‘shelter shack.’ It appears only $10 was raised towards her goal of $4,000.
In a previous post from 2023 she wrote, ‘Don’t look at me. Don’t look at me, as a replica of how Jesus was, just because I’m a Christian.’
‘I am a slave and a follower. I am full of selfishness, lust, greed and insanity just like the rest of you. Don’t look at me, look at HIM.’
In the post, she used the hashtag ‘jesusisthenonlyright.’
Earlier this month, an Arizona father was charged with murder after he left his two-year-old daughter in the back of a hot car for three hours in 109F heat while he played video games indoors.
According to the latest figures from the National Safety Council, there have been 18 hot car deaths, so far, in 2024. In 2023, the total number was 29.
There have been 987 deaths since 1998. More than half of those deaths were children under two years old.
