Kentucky woman, Maria Domingo Perez arrested trying to sell baby infant to Bowling Green couple for $2000 in adoption. Mom of five has all children placed in child services.

A Kentucky woman has been arrested after attempting to sell her baby after an elementary school called police and said the mother gave her child away.

Maria Domingo Perez, 31, was busted in Bowling Green for selling the infant to couple, Pascual Jose Manuel, 45, and Catarina Felipe Jose, 37, for $2,000, Fox News reports.

Investigators interviewed Perez, who gave conflicting stories, before eventually admitting to having agreed to give the couple her baby.

Manuel and Jose told police they agreed to pay $2,000 for the child. The baby’s gender was not revealed.

Perez’s four other children were taken from her after the arrest. The siblings along with the baby Perez sought to sell are now in protective custody WKYT reported.

The trio were charged for selling and purchasing a child for black market adoption, which are felonies.

Unclear is what led to Perez seeking to ‘offload’ her child and what remedies, if any, were available to her as she ’negotiated’ being a parent to five children.

The investigation is ongoing.
