Bangor, Maine mother, Kimberly Nelligan charged with child endangerment following the death of her one year old daughter after giving the child doses of heroin to get her to sleep.

A mother in Maine has been arrested in connection with the death of her 1-year-old  daughter after allegedly giving the child small doses of heroin on numerous occasions to help the baby sleep, according to a report.

Kimberly Nelligan, 33, of Bangor is accused of rubbing the opioid on her toddler’s gums about 15 times over the course of two months before the baby died on Oct. 10, 2018, according to court documents obtained by the Bangor Daily News.

Nelligan was arrested on Tuesday, which the Maine medical examiner’s office saying one year old Jody’s death was caused by acute fentanyl intoxication, the paper reported.

Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid — roughly 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine — which is prescribed to treat severe pain.

Users often mix the drug with heroin to boost ‘euphoric effects,’ according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

During initial police questioning, Nelligan denied using heroin. But she later admitted to using the drug once a week for two months before her daughter died, police records state.

Her husband told cops that during that time he witnessed her rub some heroin on her daughter’s gums roughly 15 times, the report said, adding the baby was having sleep issues.

The mother also allegedly told her husband that giving her children heroin was common practice — as she did the same for her two other kids when they were younger. Claims the woman has since disputed in a Wednesday afternoon Facebook post video- more on that below.

Nelligan is facing child endangerment and possession of drug charges, with prosecutors saying the severity of the charges may be raised pending further investigations, according to Bangor District Attorney Marianne Lynch.

A regard of Nelligan’s Facebook wall revealed her responding to the announcement of Ohio cheerleader Skylar Richardson, 20, being cleared of murdering her baby but convicted of burying the girl’s corpse last week.

Posted Nelligan: ‘Kills me i would do anything to have my baby back stupid bitch she is.’

But there’s more.

Come Wednesday late afternoon, Nelligan posted a video on her Facebook wall where she angrily condemned her husband, accusing him of having made up her ever rubbing heroin on her daughters’ gums along with accusing her husband of of failing ‘all his drug tests’ while she passed hers. She also took exception to claims that she was responsible for her daughter’s death. See video below. Click on image for video to play.

Nelligan is currently out on bail pending further developments.
