Charlotte, North Carolina mother, Yasmine Danielle Richardson and her boyfriend Daquan Harmon McFadden arrested in the child abuse death of one year old toddler.
A North Carolina woman and her boyfriend have been charged in the child abuse death of her 1-year-old child.
A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police statement noted Yasmine Danielle Richardson, 24 and Daquan Harmon McFadden, 23 being charged with felony child abuse inflicting serious injury. McFadden also is charged with murder Fox46Charlotte reported.
Notice of abuse came after officers responded Tuesday morning to a report of an injured child in need of ‘medical attention’ at a Charlotte, Best Western circa 10.45 am. The child was later pronounced dead at a hospital. Authorities didn’t immediately release the child’s name or details about their injuries. Police say the investigation is ongoing and the scene was searched for evidence and witnesses.
Unclear is how the couple had ended up at the Best Western and how long they’d been residing at the motel chain. WLOS reported the three living together.
Richardson and McFadden are being held at Mecklenburg County Jail and were scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday. It’s unclear if they have lawyers.
