A police mugshot revealed our collective hero grinning while sporting a gash on her forehead after her 2 a.m. arrest on Sunday on child endangerment charges outside of Trackside Night Club in Copperas Cove.

Authorities had been dispatched to the nightspot when somebody called about a 1-year-old child left inside a running car, according to an arrest affidavit.

Police found Vaughan’s infant sleeping in a safety seat in the back of the unlocked Buick, the records said cited by KWTX.

Copperas Cove police then found the child’s 26 year old mom inside the bar.

An arrest affidavit cited officers smelling ‘a strong odor commonly associated with the consumption of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her person.’

At first Vaughan told cops she simply stopped inside to go the bathroom, despite reeking of booze..

When tested later with a preliminary breath test device at the Copperas Cove Police Department, Vaughan’s blood alcohol level showed to be 0.148.

The legal limit for driving in Texas is 0.08.

The mother again changed her story, telling cops she went to the bathroom, found her husband and then drank.

Upon further questioning Vaughan spewed a racial epithet, ‘You will not take my child and place her with a f…… (N-word),’

When officers told her she was under arrest, our collective hero resisted.

But there’s more.

Upon cops placing Vaughan in the back of their patrol car,  Vaughan ‘smashed her forehead into the steel bar twice causing a small laceration to her head,’ according to an arrest affidavit.

The baby has since been turned over to her father following Vaughan’s arrest.
