Ohio man arrested after (repeatedly) beating his uncle to death with a baseball bat following disagreement over game of pool.
An Ohio man has been accused of beating his uncle to death with a baseball bat after becoming enraged following a game of pool.
Cameron Blake Goodrich, 34, was arrested late Tuesday after his uncle, Dino Goodrich, 59, was found unresponsive by cops on the garage floor of a home they shared in Gahanna, a suburb of Columbus. Paramedics tried to save the unconscious man, who was later pronounced dead at a hospital, cops said.
Investigators discovered that the men had been involved in a prolonged dispute over a game of pool earlier Tuesday- which escalated later that evening with Cameron Goodrich grabbing a bat from inside the home and attacking his uncle.
The Columbus Dispatch reported Cameron Goodrich using a wooden, red Rawlings bat during the assault, striking his uncle several times in the head and body.
Cameron Goodrich’s grandfather witnessed the attack and relayed what he saw to police, according to a criminal complaint.
Cameron Goodrich later admitted to detectives that he hit his uncle multiple times with the red bat and believed he had killed him, according to the complaint. He remains held without bond on a charge of murder at the Franklin County Jail as of Thursday according to a statement on Facebook.
Goodrich is expected to make his initial court appearance on Thursday.
