US Navy serviceman, Donavon Moora shoots dead two female servicemen at Porstmouth Viriginia 7-Eleven before shooting self dead.
Three US Navy members, including two female victims – have been killed in an apparent double murder-suicide near where the victims were stationed in Virginia.
Donavon Moora, 22, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound Saturday close to where two female services members were fatally shot while sitting inside an automobile at a Portsmouth 7-Eleven parking lot, the Virginian-Pilot reported.
Moora and the two slain women- identified as Shianne Soles, 19 and Meaghan Burns, 23 — were reportedly all active-duty Navy corpsmen. The relationship among the victims remained unclear.
WLOS reported Soles hailing from Veradale, Washington, and Burns from Massachusetts.
Soles and Burns were stationed at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth about a mile and a half from where they were killed. Moora — whose body was discovered in a vehicle — was based at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, authorities said.
‘Mental health professionals and chaplains are at each location to assist anyone dealing with the grief and difficult nature of this tragedy,’ Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery spokesman Ed Gulick wrote in a release. ‘Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and shipmates during this difficult time.’

According to Burns’ obituary, she enlisted in the Navy in 2015 and was a ‘proud sailor and was planning to further her career in healthcare at the end of her enlistment.’
Soles was remembered Tuesday as a ‘bright light’ who recently joined the Navy and excelled at cheer, track and school, KREM reported.
‘Her smile was contagious and her laughter was infectious,’ her family said in a statement. ‘She was a friend to everyone that met her and never turned down anyone that needed help, day or night. She touched the lives of many.’
To date it remains unclear why the two female navy servicemen were targeted in the double murder suicide, whether all three individuals knew each other and what ultimately motivated the attack.
