Jonathan Carson arrested; 21 year old Arizona man captured after abducting missing 14 year old teen girl, Aubrey Gardner, from her Surprise home.
Jonathan Carson a 21 year old man wanted in connection to the amber alert disappearance of 14 year old Arizona teen girl was on Sunday arrested in Mesquite.
Surprise Police Department released a statement saying that Carson was found with missing teen, Aubrey Gardner and taken into custody following the amber alert being raised the day before. The teen was noted to be unharmed.
The police agency stated the amber alert for the missing 14 year old girl being issued in the town of Surprise after she was allegedly abducted from her family home.
‘Investigators are still working to determine the circumstances surrounding Aubrey’s disappearance,’ Surprise police wrote in a statement.

Aubrey Gardner had been secretly texting with her abductor:
Prior to the amber alert, Aubrey was last seen on Saturday in Mesquite and reported missing later that day. Authorities indicated she was likely with Carson, who had been reported to have recently deserted the Arizona military. The relationship between the pair remains unclear.
A report via 12news cited Aubrey Gardner’s mother, Traci Gardner saying her daughter’s trusting quality may have made her an easy target for 21-year-old Jonathan Carson. Police say they discovered Carson had been texting with Gardner.
The mother in an impassioned plea for her daughter’s safe return described Aubrey as being, ‘shy and introverted along with being loving and sweet.’
How or where the teen met her abductor remained unclear. Also unclear is how long they had been in touch and what Carson’s intentions were.
Carson faced criminal charges for resisting arrest, obstruction of justice and for felony warrants for deserting military service out of Arizona.
