Virginia Stewart Florida wife domestic violence: What informed one woman she had the right to beat up her husband?
Virginia Stewart a Florida wife has allegedly beat up her husband after the man bought the wrong flowers and candy for Mother’s Day.
According to a probable cause affidavit cited by the Smoking Gun, the Holmes Beach woman was so incensed with her husband the woman beat her husband with her fists and a coat hanger.
The beating told the report follows that of an argument which stretched from Saturday until Sunday morning, leading to cops arresting Virginia Stewart, Sunday morning at 8.02am.
Told the police report: ‘The defendant entered into a domestic relate argument with the victim concerning the defendant’s child and the victim getting her the wrong flowers and candy for mother’s day.’
According to cops, Stewart’s husband’s face was visibly bruised when officers responded to the couple’s house.
Police also noted Stewart threw cups around the room during the argument.
Since her arrest, Virginia Stewart was charged with simple battery and booked into the Manatee County Jail. She was released Monday on $750 bail.
Stewart is scheduled for a June 9 arraignment on the misdemeanor charge. A judicial order bars Virginia Stewart from having any contact with her husband ‘until further court order.’
Not necessarily understood is if there were other instances of the husband being beaten along with other probable causes that led to the woman believing she was justified in beating the man.
