Balenciaga kick started the Paris Spring/Summer 2011 proceedings with boxy tunics and vests that nodded to a boyish vibe, super-shiny techno fabrics in clean block shapes were juxtaposed with natural fibres while the styling was pure rockabilly meets urban warrior. Overall Nicolas Ghesquière combined a taste for the future with contemporary urban references.
