The Lifetime Achievement Award honored Angela Lansbury for her “theatrically royalty”, and for being the “ageless woman…who energizes everyone on stage.” Articulate as ever, and proud to have just celebrated her 85th birthday- Lansbury urged everyone to keep at it, ‘which only gets better and better.’ Herb Alpert, awarded The Outstanding Contributions to the Arts award, had everyone giggling with admiration during his speech.
Katie and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte appeared on stage to collect their Young Artist Award. Known for their hand finished pieces, which appeared in the New York Times, Women’s Wear Daily and Artforum—and for having won several fellowships, awards and spaces at F.I.T and museums all over New York—Rodarte earned a rich accolade from an Anna Wintour video: “Rodarte’s depth, texture and originality [have made profound impacts around the world]”.
