‘Diversity’ in Ethno-Glam.’ This collection was to be Farah’s serenade to her Indonesian motherland, to its variety of lush landscapes and multicolored citizens. Although the models were mostly exhibiting various shades of white (except for a handful of (fair) mixed-ethnicity chicks, and the stunning sculpture that is called Alex Wek) the fashion did attempt to sprinkle two or three ethno ideas onto its cornucopia of glam.

Notably as follows: a few forays in Batik, best exemplified by the Ikat mindress, that could indeed ride the whole damned wave between the ethnic-sandal shop and Miuccia Prada and the odd undecided venture in patchwork, most of the ethno was in the accessories, chunkissimo “slave-bangle” bracelets, chain silver armbands riding the ladies’ biceps) – but I’m all too afraid they’re not for sale.
