Downstairs the photographers snapshot entering patrons who stood on the carpeted backdrop, to have their pictures taken against a backdrop where the works of forty-one artists were projected in a sequential pattern. Four of these works were hand-selected for display on the wall to the rear of the foyer, though all 41 artists were chosen as a part of the 2nd Collection Initiative.

The post-Museum party featuring John Legend, held at the Bowery Hotel, too was a spectacular success. Cupcakes decorated the tall funneling tables while paper Mache green balloons floated all around and bartenders hosted the open bar. The party honored the 25 emerging journalists, artists, producers, writers and others, each to whom AOL will award a $25,000 scholarship.

Mind you when I finally left there were lines of people  around the block trying to get in. A testament one supposes to the icon AOL has culturally become.
