M.I.A- Born to be Free. The music video that goes to caustic extremes.
Redefining culture and exploring base sensibilities is suddenly a new battle cry.
Pop rock it ain’t, M.I.A’s new music video –‘Born to be Free,’ directed by Romain Gavras-seems to be doing what the artist intended when they set out to make this song. Already banned on most places, public forums the song which depicts a surreal world of despotic violence, crack smoking idlers, red haired youth guerrilla one supposes or wonders freedom fighters and a mask cloaked adversary trigger happy to enforce the states will. Whatever that state is and no matter what that will is. With executions, sex scenes and young men dodging grenades and point blank artillery fire the caustic electronic music moans and by the time you get to the end of the nine minute trailer you want to see it all over again because being shocked and forced to reconsider the cultural milieu has perversely gotten hot.
That said here is the video below and all we can tell you is to brace yourself because you rarely have lived this unless of course you somehow have.
