Dating is a game and is strategically played at its best in the Hamptons. People do not mess around; women sacrifice meals to give off a ‘swimsuit model’ image in order to catch the eye of as many men as possible, upping their odds of scoring rich new boyfriends. Finance guys throw out credit cards all day long, purchasing clusters of attractive girls pricey cocktails like it was their job; all to have at least one accompany them home at the end of the night. The most effective pick- up accessory is the car, or ‘leased luxury vehicle’ whose leasee drive it so very slowly down Main Street, showcasing that image of success. Observers that fail to ‘read between the lines’ or heaven for bid, willingly wait in line, instantly fall weak under the hypnotizing spell of opulence, failing to see the truth behind superficial fluff.
Laid-back attitudes and a casual manner (women sporting flip-flops and bikinis with simple cover-ups) are far more attractive and most likely to ‘strike gold’ through spontaneous meetings with people of interest. The key is to not take yourself seriously; genuine smiles happen naturally when embracing the surrounding beauty. Shy away from exhausting energy, running from event to event, posing for pictures, and looking spectacular at all costs. Not that that could possibly you. Content Hampton ‘frequenters’ are far away from the havoc of frenzied crowds, partaking in ‘lovebird’ picnics on the beach while staring adoringly into one another’s eyes without any inclination to look elsewhere. They have been there, done that, and realize the joys of wishing upon a star under an infinite galaxy (invisible via the streets of New York), jet-skiing to undisclosed locations for private picnics, or barbequing while enjoying the ‘all too quickly’ sinking sunsets.
Singles, do not fear, this is a feasible scenario for everyone. If one steers away from these unnecessary mannerisms that are comically showcased (assuming you can see the humor) throughout the Hamptons, one can instantly stand out from the crowd. The remaining mass of ‘wannabes’ are usually found meandering aimlessly down sidewalks of gated mansions or urgently discovering the ultimate ‘pick-up’ spot of the moment…island off the island ‘Sunset Beach’ (clear, cloudy, thunderstorms…does not matter) or in front of club favorite, ‘Lily Pond.’
Pertinent advice…‘Keep it real’. Weed through any of these superficial signs. We only live once; those who seeking fulfillment should veer away from frustration caused by pretentious people, choosing to instead approach the world with natural instinct, integrity, honesty, and a good heart. Masters who embody genuine characteristics inevitably find true love. That of course wont stop you from leasing that luxury car or skipping your next meal?
