As I made my way back to the bar, DJ Sky appeared behind me to say hello. There to network and make an appearance for the event, he said he had just passed by Rihanna on his way in from the main area. He was there with a few friends, notably Panama of The Wire. We chopped it up on the SACS petition, which he is very excited about, the party, which was quite acceptable, and making that bread…

I was about to leave the VIP when I noticed MTV’s Sway having a conversation. I decided to have one with him in turn:

SCV: How’s it going! How do you feel about this party here?

S: This is cool, I like it.

SCV: What do you hope to get from your attendance?

S: I’m here to show some support for Busta Rhymes, he’s prolific; he’s lasted for decades. He’s a real artist, and I need to show support for legitimate artists out there. A lot of artists these days, they don’t know what it is to be a legitimate artist.

The main area was futuristic with a powerful, chest-vibrating sound system, giant flat screens, and a prolific artist-ready stage. Gorgeous models with vanilla personalities solicited a photo booth and stairs to the left led to a room in which tattoos were being acquired with little more thought applied than hennas at the fair.

The smartly dressed crowd modulated in festive excitement as it awaited Busta Rhymes, but by 1 am, he never showed. It was just as well; I passed quite a few well-dressed party-goers headed opposite to me as I left, so the party apparently wasn’t going to stop for anyone.
