A small plane crash in Fresno, California has left two dead and two others critically injured.
The Fresno Fire Department said the crash happened at noon on Blythe Avenue, near the Sierra Sky Park Airport.
Updated reports described the deceased as two children and the critically injured survivors as two adults. At the time of the crash, there were four individuals on board the flight.

What caused Fresno plane crash?
There were four people on the aircraft at the time of the crash, YourCentralValley reported.
Stated a release in part via the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office: ‘Around 1:50 pm on Saturday, sheriff’s deputies, Fresno firefighters and officers with Fresno Police responded to a report of a plane crash. They arrived on the 7300 block of N. Blythe Ave. and discovered a fixed wing single-engine airplane on fire atop the bluff of the San Joaquin River. Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames and prevent them from spreading onto the properties of nearby homes.
‘There were four people onboard the plane. First responders helped to transport two adults to the hospital, where they are listed in critical condition. Two children were pronounced deceased at the scene.’
Authorities to date have not identified the four individuals on board. The names and relationships of the victims are unknown right now.
Officials didn’t state what caused the plane to crash.

Small plane went down on embankment near San Joaquin River
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including PG&E and the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities said electrical power was briefly knocked out for nearby residents during the time of the crash but has since been restored.
Firefighters and other emergency personnel were seen battling flames on a hillside.
The plane went down on an embankment near the San Joaquin River.
Preliminary reports did not describe from where the plane had taken off from and its final destination.
Officials from the Fresno Police, Fresno Fire Department, PG&E, Fresno County Sheriff’s Office and North Central Fire Department responded to the scene, according to ABC30.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are expected to join investigations into what caused the plane crash.
