He had everything except one thing… A British-Nigerian businessman and social media influencer with over 185,000 followers has died following complications from a penis enlargement procedure in Thailand.
Igho ‘Tiny’ Ubiribo, also known online as Denisi or Ego, underwent the procedure at a Thai clinic in March, where approximately 40 milliliters of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine were injected into his penis.
Igho was staying at a Marriott hotel in Bangkok with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen leading up to the tragedy. After the procedure, the couple went for a massage, where the influencer began complaining of chest pain and passed out twice.
What could possibly go wrong?
He was rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital and was initially conscious and able to answer questions. Danielle told doctors about the filler injections, and a CT was ordered, but he lost consciousness before the imaging could be done.
Doctors determined he had suffered a pulmonary embolism — A pulmonary embolism is a life-threatening medical emergency that occurs when material traveling through the bloodstream suddenly blocks an artery in the lungs, preventing normal blood flow and potentially causing the heart and lungs to rapidly fail.
Medics performed CPR for more than 100 minutes, but Igho died in the early hours of March 6 following the botched operation.
A coroner later determining the cosmetic treatment caused a fatal pulmonary embolism according to TMZ.
Penis enlargement procedure risks
A U.K. postmortem later found material in his lungs matching the hyaluronic acid used during the procedure. Coroner Jean Harkin ultimately ruled that the cosmetic injections caused the fatal pulmonary embolism.
Hyaluronic acid penile fillers can cost up to $9,000 and typically last between six and nine months the nypost reports.
It remained unclear if medics and the Thai clinic involved would now face any disciplinary measures or fines.
Igho had approximately 185,000 Instagram followers (@ego2222) and was known for sharing his lavish lifestyle. He reportedly owned homes in Los Angeles and London.
He and Danielle, a fashion designer and socialite, married in an extravagant ceremony in Zimbabwe in 2022. Photos and videos on her Instagram account depict the couple enjoying luxury vacations and parties over the years.
Igho was buried in London in a gold coffin reportedly costing over $745,000.
