Zymire Hughes, 22, was identified as the wanted man alleged to have threatened and chased people near Philadelphia’s City Hall.
Hughes who continues to remain at large is thought to have fled Pennsylvania soon after surveillance video captured the man terrorizing passerby’s in the vicinity, police announced on Thursday.
Investigators say Hughes has ties to California and Nevada, and Philadelphia Police are now working with the U.S. Marshals Service to locate him and return him to Philadelphia.
The case stems from a series of incidents on Aug. 12 near 15th Street and JFK Boulevard, where police say a masked man confronted and threatened multiple people.
The suspect was captured on surveillance wearing a distinctive doll-style mask while recording some of the encounters on his cellphone according to Action News.
In one encounter, a female jogger told police the masked suspect chased her and allegedly asked her, ‘Are you ready to die?’. The episode led to the woman fearing for her life, running away and screaming for help, severely injuring her leg.
Cops believe the masked man have pursued his ambit in the hopes of achieving social media fame. Do you suppose…?

‘I believe that he was doing this purely for social media content – either A, for his own sick personal amusement, or B, he had plans of posting it online at some point, and possibly monetizing it,’ said Philadelphia Police Capt. Jason Smith.
Smith says Hughes encountered 15 to 16 people during the early morning hours of August 15 circa 5 a.m.
Hughes upon his arrest faces possible charges of making terroristic threats, harassment, simple assault and intimidation.
