Carlos Penzo, Long Island City, Queens luxury building murder mystery as cops make arrest and seek two other men amid questions of victim’s ties and background.
NYPD authorities have taken a man into custody after a 36-year-old man was found stabbed to death at his Long Island City, Queens residence over the weekend. The arrest comes as authorities continue to seek the whereabouts of two other wanted men.
Carlos Penzo was found in his fourth-floor apartment at 43-25 Hunter Street on Saturday afternoon.
The arrested man, yet to be publicly identified was found naked on the roof of the apartment building spraying a fire extinguisher at security cameras.

Authorities say he was caught attempting to break back into the victim’s apartment ABCNY7 reported.
Police believe up to two other men may also have also been in the apartment.
Penzo was found just on 1 p.m, slayed in his bathtub with multiple stab wounds to his head, face and chest. He had a knife and taser in his lap. One knife was found on a bed and another in a sink.
Cops made the gruesome discovery after the building doorman called 911 after seeing a naked man on the roof spraying a fire extinguisher at a security camera, according to police sources.
Sources said a 911 call was made from Penzo’s phone earlier in the day, but officers couldn’t find him because they didn’t have his apartment number, PIX11 reported.
Long Island City murder victim background raises questions
Recovered security video shows Penzo entering his building about 10 p.m. the night before with the apprehended man. An hour later, the individual showed up and went into the victim’s apartment, only to never leave.
Authorities had yet to announce what charges the arrested man now faced.
‘He was the best person in the world,’ the victim’s brother told the Daily News. ‘Ain’t no soul as great as his in this world. He was an angel on earth for my whole family.’
Detectives are looking into Penzo’s background as they seek to discover his connection, if any to the men who murdered him and what led up to the victim being targeted.
The Hayden, Rockrose luxury rentals building where Penzo was found boasts 30,000 square feet of amenities including a basketball court, duplex fitness center, roof deck grills, a large lawn with a movie screen and multiple lounges.
According to listings, two-bedroom units in the building rent for upwards of $6,000 per month.
