An Oklahoma woman has been accused of putting a 5-year-old girl in a chokehold and then stabbing a man who had sought to get the child away from her according to reports.
The alleged incident involving Keuetta Daniels, 40, took place in the area of East 340 Road and South 4190 Road near Oologah Lake, northwest of Tulsa on Friday.
Rogers County deputies responded to a call about a stabbing and were told by witnesses of Daniels grabbing the girl and putting her in a chokehold after the child threw sand on her.
John Reed-Basks then grabbed Daniels and tried to pull her off the little girl, only for Daniels to take out a pocket knife and stab the man multiple times, KTUL reports.
Deputies found a pocket knife on the scene that matched a description given by witnesses KJRH reports.
Daniels was arrested on charges of child abuse, domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and domestic by strangulation according to a release via the Roger’s County Sheriff’s Office.
Jail records indicated Daniels was being held on $151,000 bond.
The relationship between the little girl, Daniels, and Reed-Basks wasn’t given by the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office, nor was Reed-Basks condition.
