Brandon Husband and Lynn Husband: A Kansas couple are killed after the motorcycle they were riding crashes into a fence after a vulture struck the husband in the head.
A Kansas husband and wife were killed over the weekend after a vulture caused their motorcycle to crash into a barbed wire fence.
Brandon Husband, 43, and his wife Lynn, 42, who have four children, were riding on a rural road near Medicine Lodge, southwest of Wichita, around 3pm on Saturday when a vulture came out of a ditch and struck Husband in the head, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Husband then veered off the road and struck a barbed wire fence before the 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle overturned Fox4KC reported.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene while Lynn was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
She passed away from her injuries seven hours later.
Authorities said that neither Husband or Lynn were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.
Husband and Lynn leave behind four children. A GoFundMe campaign has since been created to help support them.
Tributes began pouring in for the couple on social media as news broke of the tragedy.
‘Been a rough day. Working all day with the thought of knowing you’re gone. It still feels unreal,’ wrote Jessica Rose Nirschl in a tribute to Husband.
‘You welcomed me into the family from the first day. I still can’t believe you’re gone. Sure are gonna miss you Brandon Husband. Till we meet again ride easy my friend.’
‘Everyone please say a prayer for this family and these kids. May you rest in peace Lynn Husband and Brandon Husband!’ wrote Justin Schulte.
‘We are all going to miss you both and we are all going to look after your kiddos for you!’
It remained unclear why the couple weren’t wearing helmets.
