Pawel Boduch charged with the stabbing murder of his elderly Englewood, NJ parents, Edward Boduch and Miroslawa Potocka.

A 43 year old man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing his elderly parents to death at their NJ residence.

Accused with the slaying of his parents, Edward Boduch, 71, and Miroslawa Potocka, 72, was the couple’s eldest son, Pawel M. Boduch.

Upon being taken into custody, Pawel Boduch was charged with murder and possession of a weapon for unlawful use, related to their deaths, NJ.com reported.

Officers found the man’s parents deceased inside their Englewood home on Saturday, after the couple’s younger son called officers to do a wellness check on them at their property, Englewood Police Chief Lawrence Suffern said.

The couple’s other son, Gregory-  had called police at around 10.52am Eastern on Saturday after he had not been able to reach his parents for multiple days, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police arrived on the scene at the Lafayette Place home at around 11am.

‘Upon entry to the home the officers discovered two individuals,’ Suffern said. ‘They were inside, deceased, with apparently some stab wounds.’

Suffern said both parents had been dead for three dead prior to the discovery of their bodies.

Pawel Boduch was later arrested at a nearby ShopRite, where the car belonging to his parents was found.

Neighbors were shocked the their usually uneventful area had become a crime scene.

‘This house, I pass it every day. It’s normal. Everything is normal,’ one man told CBS

‘Engelwood is usually a nice, quiet suburban town,’ said another, in disbelief that two murders had taken place in the area.

Pawel Boduch: ‘He used to walk up and down the street and the mother tried to console him many times’.

NorthJersey.com cited neighbors saying not much being known about the couple emigrating from Poland– with Rufus Moore, who lives across the street from the couple, saying, ‘they were very good people.’

Pawel Boduch-described as being single and unemployed was taken into custody at around 5pm, on the same day his parents’ bodies were found.  A statement from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s office revealed Boduch living with his parents at the time of their murder.

‘He had problems,’ officials revealed. ‘He used to walk up and down the street and the mother tried to console him many times on the steps to try to get him to calm down.’

The Daily Voice reported the son being held for psychiatric treatment in police custody Sunday at New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus.

A potential motive for the slayings has yet to be established, prosecutors said.
