‘Don’t shoot mommy’ Florida man shoots wife and in laws (on new year’s day) after cheating with his best friend

William Brian Stillwell is charged with attempted murder after barging in on New Year’s Day gathering and shooting at his estranged wife and her parents. 

A Florida man has been arrested on attempted murder charges after allegedly shooting his wife and her parents on New Year’s Day after discovering what was believed to be an intimate video of his wife and his best friend together.

Brevard County police said the shooting happened shortly before 5pm at a family home in Melbourne during an afternoon family gathering. 

William Brian Stillwell, 39, upon barging in on the family- allegedly shot Mona Stillwell, along with her father and mother, Robert and Naima Snelgrove in the legs and hips. The shooting comes after the estranged husband coming across cellphone video that apparently showed his wife cheating on him with one of his friends.

All three victims were transported to the hospital with injuries, but will survive, authorities said. A regard of the family residence led to authorities discovering a 9mm pistol in the living room next to a couch.

ClickOrlando reported the father giving himself up after a 10-15 minute stand-off with police.

At the time of the shooting, the couple’s two young children were inside the home, but were not injured.

The five-year-old twins were heard in a 911 call pleading with their father not to shoot their mother, according to WESH 2

At one point the mother is heard shouting, ‘Get out and run, baby, run!’

William Brian Stillwell and his estranged wife were having marital problems:

Melbourne Police Department Lt. Shawn Eising in a released statement said that the kids ‘were able to escape the home and run to a neighbor who was able to provide them security and some level of comfort.’ 

Three family dogs also escaped from the home. One of them is still missing.

Neighbors told News 6 that Stillwell’s wife had moved into the home with her parents and the couple’s two children because she and Stillwell were having marital problems.

Stillwell was taken into custody Tuesday and booked into Brevard County Jail with no bond. A regard of the husband’s Linkdn profile revealed him working as a sales manager at Hippo Roofing LLC on Linkedin.

Stillwell has been charged with felony attempted murder, armed burglary, child abuse and concealing a firearm.  

Come Tuesday, Mona Stillwell changed her Facebook profile photo from a photo herself next to her husband to a photo showing only their twin children.

The Stillwell family is from Satellite Beach.
