What led to Kayla Denham a Baton Rouge massage therapist being murdered at her last appointment? Client Christopher Landry is arrested. Had been observed acting suspicious evening before. 

The body of missing woman, Kayla Ann Denham a Baton Rouge, Louisiana massage therapist has been retrieved at the location of her last appointment.

Arrested was 25 year old man, Christopher Landry who lived at the Denham Springs property where Denham’s body was found in a barn.

The coroner’s office said the preliminary cause of the massage therapist’s death the result of blunt force with head injuries associated with strangulation.

A report via WAFB cited the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office saying the 24 year old masseuse being scheduled to meet a client at 5am. Monday at the home where her body was discovered.

The 24-year-old, who advertised her services online, reportedly had been working towards earning her massage therapy license.

Of question is what led to the woman agreeing to an appointment so early in the morning?

Arrested was Christopher Landry who was accused of murdering masseuse, Kayla Denham of Baton Rouge.

Prior to heading over to her appointment, Denham texted her boyfriend the time and location of the house call.

At some point during the day, Denham’s family reported her missing after numerous attempts to get in contact with her led to no response.

Told Sheriff Jason Ard: Friends and family became worried after she failed to return home and calls to her cellphone went unanswered’.

Denham’s boyfriend went to the property to look for Denham twice, coming across his missing girlfriend’s car parked in the woods upon his second visit. 

He called 911 with authorities soon discovered Denham’s body in the barn.

Landry was arrested soon after on suspicion of killing Denham and booked at Livingston Parish Detention Center.

He was charged with second-degree murder and obstruction of justice. His bail was set at $175,000.

Of note, Ashley Kellet, a neighbor who lives across the street from Landy, described Landry exhibited suspicious behavior in the early morning hours along the front lawn, with the woman saying she had also seen Landry pacing his own driveway Monday evening.

A report via the advocate told of Landry having no violent crime history.

The sheriff’s office said that its investigation is ongoing, and that it has ‘a lot of questions’ that remain unanswered.

Kayla’s murder has since led to an outpouring of emotion.

Wrote Denham’s cousin Michelle Guglielmo Gilliam in a statement,We are in shock about the loss of our beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin and friend’

Adding, ‘Kayla was a wonderful young woman who always shared a beautiful smile on her face and love in her heart. She will be greatly missed, and we ask for privacy during this very difficult period of mourning for the family.’

To date authorities have not released any possible motive of what may have led to Christopher Landry violently murdering Denham as they continue their investigations.
