Tayler Seymour Lockhart ISD teacher at Texas high school charged with having inappropriate relationship with female student.
A Texas high school teacher and dance coach has turned herself in after allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a female student, according to authorities.
Tayler Seymour, 26, who taught at Lockhart High School, admitted to police that she and the student had been involved in the illicit relationship since last summer, authorities said in a statement Tuesday.
Seymour, of Kyle, Tx., was charged with a second-degree felony for an improper relationship between an educator and student, cops said.
There is no indication that any other students were involved, according to authorities.
The exact nature of the infringement was not specified, despite the implication of sexual impropriety.
CPS brought in to investigate:
Seymour, who had worked with the Lockhart Independent School District since March 2016, was placed on administrative leave, the district said in a statement, also released Tuesday.
‘The trust between a teacher and student is sacred, and we do not and will not tolerate any violation of that trust,’ superintendent Mark Estrada said in a letter to parents. ‘The safety of our students is our number one priority, and we will continue to cooperate fully with law enforcement during this ongoing investigation.’
‘She will not return to this district,’ Estrada added, noting that the complaint against Seymour was also reported to Child Protective Services.
Details of the complaint against Tayler would not be public until CPS investigate KXAN reported.
Seymour will be booked into Caldwell County Jail, and bond is set at $50,000.
Not immediately understood is what led to the educator betraying her trust, authority and position of power to sexually prey on her female victim.
