Jesica Lee Brown Utah mother arrested after deliberately leaving four year old son in hot car as punishment for misbehaving.
A drug addled Utah mother has been arrested after allegedly ‘deliberately’ leaving her four year old son in a hot car as ‘punishment’ for misbehaving according to reports.
Jesica Lee Brown, 28, of Draper was booked Monday night following a 911 call about a 4-year-old who was locked in the car with the windows rolled up — with access to her drug paraphernalia and needles, Deseret News reported.
‘It was approximately still 82 degrees outside as I arrived on scene,’ the responding officer wrote in the affidavit. ‘I determined that the vehicle the child was in also was not turned on, and all windows were indeed rolled up.’
During questioning, Brown told cops her son had been ‘acting out’ with the mother conceding locked the child in the car as ‘punishment’.
The boy’s forehead ‘was hot to the touch,’ he was visibly sweating and had puffy eyes, the officer noted in the affidavit.
Brown then admitted to using methamphetamine and heroin with police finding drug paraphernalia in the mother’s purse and syringe needles in the back seat — where her son had immediate access to them, according to the report.
A background check revealed Brown having no criminal history in Utah.
The child has since been placed in the care of relatives.
